Trailer tracking, brake performance and maintenance in one connected platform
Take control of your articulated trailer fleet with live trailer tracking, Electronic Braking Performance Monitoring System (EBPMS) reports, real-time EBS fault codes and bogie axle load monitoring, backed by a full maintenance package and calendar planner.
Hundreds of trailer units rolled out across fleets
Konexit fleet has been rolling out hundreds of trailer units across multiple customer fleets. Our trailer tracking and EBPMS solution has become a growing success, helping operators see where trailers are, understand braking performance and manage maintenance in one place.
For fleets running articulated vehicles and semi-trailers, that means useful information beyond location alone: visibility of load changes, braking system faults and upcoming maintenance requirements.
Live articulated trailer tracking
See trailer locations and review journey history to help coordinate collections, deliveries and asset movements. Dwell alerts and utilisation reports help you understand where trailers spend time and how they are being used.
Real-time EBS fault codes
Receive fault codes reported by the trailers Electronic Braking System (EBS) in real time, giving your team visibility of faults that need attention.
Use diagnostic information to help prioritise investigations and coordinate maintenance action. Available data depends on the connected trailer system.
Bogie axle load weight and percentage load
View reported bogie axle load weight and percentage load, with visibility of increases or decreases as the trailer is loaded or unloaded.
This helps your team understand changes in loading throughout the working day. Available readings depend on the trailers equipment and configuration.
EBPMS brake performance reports
Use braking data collected during normal trailer operation to assess service brake performance over time. EBPMS reports support planned safety inspections and can reduce the need for routine laden roller brake tests when the applicable requirements are met.
Reduce laden brake testing costs with EBPMS
Laden roller brake testing can involve test fees, loading arrangements, driver time, travel and time away from normal fleet operations. Reducing eligible routine tests can therefore deliver savings beyond the test fee itself.
Fleet savings that add up. Our customers are saving hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of pounds a year through reduced laden brake testing requirements. Actual savings vary with fleet size, inspection schedules, testing costs, system costs and the availability of sufficient EBPMS data.
A full trailer maintenance package with a calendar planner
Behind our trailer tracking and EBPMS solution is a full maintenance package, helping customers stay on top of servicing, inspections and other planned maintenance.
A full calendar view of the maintenance planner brings upcoming work together, making it easier to see what is due and coordinate workshop bookings around fleet activity. Alongside real-time EBS fault information, it helps teams manage planned work and respond to emerging issues.
EBPMS and laden brake testing: what operators need to know
Under DVSA guidance for Great Britain, a suitable EBPMS can provide service brake performance evidence for trailer safety inspections. A competent person must evaluate the report before each inspection, sign and date the evaluation, and retain it with the performance data and vehicle record.
Laden testing remains necessary when data is insufficient, after braking work that may affect performance, or when braking concerns require confirmation. EBPMS does not replace the statutory MOT brake test, and parking brake checks remain required.
See the DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness for the full requirements.
Trailer tracking and EBPMS questions
What is the difference between EBS and EBPMS?
EBS stands for Electronic Braking System: the trailer system that electronically controls braking. EBPMS stands for Electronic Braking Performance Monitoring System: it uses operating data to assess and report service brake performance. They have different roles in connected trailer management.
Can I see when a trailer load increases or decreases?
Yes. On suitably equipped trailers, Konexit fleet can display bogie axle load weight and percentage load, showing changes as weight is added or removed.
Can I manage trailer maintenance alongside tracking?
Yes. Our full maintenance package includes a calendar view of your planner, helping you organise upcoming maintenance alongside trailer location, brake performance information and reported EBS faults.
